PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new disinfectant with which untreated sewage in rainy day containing bacteria including groups of coli bacilli discharged from a sewage plant, a pumping device, and an outlet of rainwater to a public area can be disinfected effectively and inexpensively. SOLUTION: This invention provides a disinfectant characterized by containing chlorine dioxide. In addition, a method and a device for disinfecting drainage by using the disinfectant are provided in this invention. Furthermore, in a desirable manner of this invention, the method for disinfecting the drainage characterized by using the disinfectant containing chlorine dioxide that is added to the drainage through multiple steps is provided.
