PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize cooperation of three door bodies and suppress a housing space of the three door bodies in a thickness direction to small one for increasing a space of an elevator car. SOLUTION: This opening and closing device of the elevator opens and closes the doors of the elevator by cooperation a second and a third door bodies 1b, 1c caused by driving movement of a first door body 1a. Each pair of pulleys 2b, 2b; 2c, 2c is rotationally arranged with a distance therebetween in each running passage of a second and a third door bodies 1b, 1c. On each pair of pulley 2b, 2b; 2c, 2c, a wire 3b, 3c is wound. The first door body 1a is provided with a cooperation member 4a which is connected with the wire 3b of the second door body 1b side. The second door body 1b is provided with a cooperation member 4b which is connected with the wire 3c of the third door body 1c. By driving movement of the first door body 1a, the second and the third door bodies 1b, 1c are made cooperative. At least one pair of pulleys 2c, 2c of the respective pairs of pulleys 2b, 2b; 2c, 2c of the second and the third door bodies 1b, 1c side are supported to be longitudinally rotational around horizontal axes 5, 5.
