PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient entry processing without frequent interruption of the processing by allocating a plurality of boxes to group registration for an address which is expected in advance to exceed an allowable amount. SOLUTION: This paper sheet assortment processing device is provided with a taking-in mechanism, a storing mechanism having a plurality of boxes for storing paper sheets taken in by the taking-in mechanism according to an assortment destination, a conveying mechanism for conveying the paper sheets taken in by the taking-in mechanism to the storing mechanism, and a control mechanism in which a computer control program is incorporated for feeding the paper sheets to the box of the storing mechanism corresponding to the assortment destination of the paper sheets by controlling the taking-in mechanism or the conveying mechanism, and the computer control program can associate a physical box number of each of the boxes of the storing mechanism to a logical box number grasped by an operator.
