PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit of an air conditioner having an air passage for enhancing a heat exchanging efficiency of a heat exchanger. SOLUTION: The outdoor unit of the air conditioner is made such that an inside part of a main body is partitioned into a heat exchanger chamber A and a compressor chamber B by a partition plate 4 vertically arranged on a base 3. A heat exchanger has a U-shape formed by many fins (a) having suction ports in at least its rear surface and discharging ports in a front surface and arranged in parallel to each other in an equal space in the heat exchanger chamber A, heat transferring pipes (b) crossed at a right angle with these fins, a rear surface part 6a and a side surface segment 6e having both sides bent toward a slant surface. The heat exchanger and a blower fan 7 oppositely arranged against the heat exchanger are provided in the chambers. The compressor chamber B is provided with a compressor 5. The lower end of the partition plate 4 is projected out toward the compressor chamber B to form a space 9 between it and the base 3 and at the same time the base 3 is provided with a suction port 11 for use in sucking surrounding air. |
