PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a colorless non-foameable product such as a polyisocyanate by improving a reaction of an isocyanate with a carboxylic acid, and to provide a method for producing the same and use thereof. SOLUTION: In the presence of a metal salt catalyst, and at a temperature of 20 deg. to 220 deg.C, the acylurea group-containing polyisocyanate is produced by reacting an isocyanate represented by formula (1): R (NCO)n [wherein R has n valency, and is a straight chain or branched chain aliphatic group or alicyclic group having 4 to 30 carbon atoms, or an aromatic group having 6 to 24 carbon atoms; (n) is 1, 2, 3 or 4] with an aliphatic and/or aromatic carboxylic acid.
