PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously variable automatic transmission for a n automobile or the like having less energy loss. SOLUTION: The automatic transmission comprises a gear 5 having a boss 6 screw-paired with a threaded shaft 3 directly connected to an input shaft 1 for receiving the rotation of the input shaft 1 via a spring 4 and two pairs of gear trains 7, 8 and 11, 12 different in shift ratio for transmitting the rotation changed in torque to an output shaft 9. The rotation to be transmitted from a motor to an operating shaft is finely and equally parted and the parted rotation is distributed to each of the two pairs of gear different in shift ratio at different allocation ratios to create continuously variable rotation force required by the operating shaft as mechanically connected directly thereto.
