PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a size and weight of a submerged pump, to generate stable torque all the time, and to stably and quickly conduct pumping-up and draining work. SOLUTION: This submerged pump 10 is provided with a synchronous motor 14 comprising a magnetic field rotor 15 fixed to a pump shaft 11 and a stator 16, and a resolver R as a magnetic pole position detecting means for detecting a magnetic pole position of the rotor 15. Since a motor casing 17 for storing the synchronous motor 14 is integrated with a suction casing 25, a thrust bearing 21 receiving a thrust load acting on the pump shaft 11 is arranged to be positioned in an opposite side of an impeller 12 with the synchronous motor 14 therebetween.
