PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noises during feeding a paper sheet and stably feed the paper sheet without giving influences on separate conveyance performance. SOLUTION: A pressure roller 17 of a feed roller unit 13 is put in contact with a friction pad 14 except when the feed of the recording paper sheet 12 is started, and a paper feed roller 16 of the feed roller unit 13 is rotated once when the recording paper sheet 12 is fed. The paper feed roller 16 is put in contact with the friction pad 14 when the recording paper sheet 12 is separated, and the pressure roller 17 is put in contact with the friction pad 14 when the separated recording paper sheet 12 is delivered. Pressure applied to the recording paper sheet 12 is changed over between periods for separation and delivery of the recording paper sheet 12, thus providing stable separate delivery of the recording paper sheet.
