PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for packaging an outdoor unit of an air conditioner, preventing a load collapse through reinforcement so that the unit has not tilt even when stacked. SOLUTION: The outdoor unit of an air conditioner is placed on a rectangular bottom plate 1 which is upwardly open, a bottom plate reinforcing member 1' mounted on the bottom plate, and a pair of bottom plate cushioning members 3, 3' made of a styrene foam, which are arranged at both the sides of the bottom plate reinforcing member 1'. The main body of the outdoor unit 2 is constituted of a base 2a and an external case 2b, and a compressor 2c is mounted on the base in the main body of the outdoor unit 2. The device for packaging the outdoor unit of the air conditioner comprises a ceiling cushioning member 4 mounted on the longitudinal upper part of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner, a top plate 5 which is downwardly open and is fitted to the ceiling cushioning member, and a band 7 hung on the bottom plate and the external side of the top plate 5. An erecting piece 1'c is folded at a position corresponding to the lower part of the compressor of the bottom plate reinforcing member. The tip of the erected piece 1'c is inserted into a fitting hole 1d arranged to a position corresponding to the tip of the erected piece 1'c, thus forming a protruding part 8.
