PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflective liquid crystal display device excellent in visibility and in display quality. SOLUTION: The reflective liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal layer 19 with selective reflection characteristics and a light scattering layer 20 formed closer to the observer's side than the liquid crystal layer 19 and displays using light reflected by the liquid crystal layer 19. Distribution of scattered light intensity I (θ) of the light scattering layer 20 is kept in such a way that the average value for >=I (0 deg.) and <=I (10 deg.) is <=1,000 times of the average value for >=I (20 deg.) and <=I (30 deg.) and preferably is >=10 times thereof. |
