PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger that can prevent the falling, etc., of an outside attaching member due to expanded air produced when the member is heated at brazing time. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger has an air communicating section which makes a space surrounded by the end sections of tanks 41 and 42, a blocking member 5, and the outside attaching member 7 to communicate with the outside air. Particularly, a side plate inserting hole 422 into which the end section 82 of a side plate 8 is inserted is made through the wall of the tank 42, and a clearance C2 formed between the side plate 8 and the hole 422 is used as the air communicating section.
