PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable which prevents an optical wiring system which uses a ribbon of optical fibers from decreasing in the use efficiency of the optical fibers. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable 1 contains a ribbon 6 of optical fibers and single-unit optical fibers which are one less than the optical fibers of the ribbon 6. When optical fiber cables 1 are connected to each other, one optical fiber cable 1A closer to a station has the ribbon 6 of optical fibers separated into the individual single-unit optical fibers and some of the separated single-unit optical fibers are connected to single-unit optical fibers 7 in the other optical fiber cable 1B or single-unit optical fibers 7 in the optical fiber cable 1A.
