PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light transmission body which is high in the degree of freedom in designing without the deterioration of beam-condensing performance, a light transmission plate, a beam-condensing device and an image reader. SOLUTION: The light transmission body is formed to a rectangular shape having two sides parallel to a two-dimensional plane PL and two sides perpendicular thereto in the section in a progressing direction of light, has bends on the surface parallel to the two-dimensional plane PL in the intermediate sections between an incident end face 6a and an exit end face 6b and is disposed within a medium of the refractive index smaller than the refractive index of the light transmission body 6. Flanks 6c and 6d on the two lateral side orthogonal with the two-dimensional plane PL are formed to such a shape at which the light progressing in the inside is totally reflected. Slits S which intersect orthogonally with the two-dimensional plane PL and totally reflect the light progressing in the inside are formed.
