METHOD FOR EVALUATING MIXED STATE OF STIRRED FRICTIONAL MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a frictional material having stabilized quality and performance by evaluating the mixed state of stirred frictional material for brake easily and correctly without requiring any skill. SOLUTION: A plurality of kinds of premolding samples are formed by compacting a stirred frictional material containing fibers in a filling chamber of a specified volume under a specified compaction load while varying the filling rate of the stirred frictional material. Three-point bending strength is then measured for each sample and a decision is made whether the mixing state of the stirred frictional material containing fibers used in the sample is acceptable or not based on the measured level of three-point bending strength and the variation rate thereof for the variation of filling rate.
