PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frame for a liquid crystal display, having a block construction of two or more parts eliminating the problem of strength by improving the structure of the abutment part of the frame and further facilitating joining them together, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: At the end parts of the frames 10, thin wall areas 11 made thinner than the main body parts 10h of the frames in plate thickness, and projecting parts 12 arranged in this thin wall areas 11 and extending in the direction of the plate thickness are formed, and the end parts are overlapped so that the projecting areas 12 of the respective frames 10 are faced to each other. In this state, the overlapped frames 10, 10 are mounted in-between the lower part electrode 50D and the upper part electrode 50U of projection spot welding equipment, while being pressed by the lower part electrode 50D and the upper part electrode 50U, and specified voltage is applied across the electrodes.
