PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance device which constitutionally simplifies a cam mechanism, etc., for moving a cap mechanism and a wiper mechanism, and allows miniaturization of a printer in itself. SOLUTION: Characteristically, this maintenance device 30 is equipped with the cap mechanism 40 which can shield or seal a nozzle surface 15 of a print head 12 having a nozzle capable of emitting a jet of an ink droplet, the wiper mechanism 50 which can wipe out the nozzle surface 15, and a cam member 60 which is a rotatably constituted rotor-like member and has a first cam groove 61 for moving the cap mechanism 40 to a side part of a rotor and a second cam groove 62 for moving the wiper mechanism 50.
