PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for acquiring data by a code extracted from a pattern are provided to acquire a pattern image in a mobile communication terminal having an image acquiring device or a camera, extract a code included in the pattern image, receive a position value corresponding to the code, and automatically connect to an information providing source(web site) connected to a communication network by the position value. CONSTITUTION: A code management server(100) generates a pattern having a code, stores a position value having the code in a database, provides the pattern having the code to a mobile communication terminal(700), and provides the corresponding position value to the client computer(600) when a code value is inputted from the client computer(600). The mobile communication terminal(700) applies to the code management server(100) for the issue of the code, receives the pattern having the code, and inserts the pattern into a code expression medium. The client computer(600) acquires a pattern image from the code expression medium, extracts the code from the acquired pattern image, receives a position value corresponding to the extracted code from the code management server(100), and automatically connects to a web site(900) by the position value.
