PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for liquefying/separating air which can satisfy the purity specification of product oxygen and product nitrogen even when variation of load accompanies pressure variation of material air and which is effective, especially, in an air liquefier/separator where the pressure of material air is varied through partial or total integration with a gasification combined cycle power generation facility. SOLUTION: In the air liquefying/separating method for producing oxygen and nitrogen from compressed, refined and cooled material air through double rectification including high pressure part rectification and low pressure part rectification, a part of ascending gas is extracted while regulating the flow rate when the quantity of the material air decreases or increases while varying the pressure.
