PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper container, in which a metallic luster layer region is simply formed at a low cost and in which the metallic luster layer region and a non-metallic luster layer region are pattern-formed in arbitrary shapes, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The paper container, in which a printed layer having the metallic luster layer region is provided on a paper base material, is characterized by making the metallic luster layer region contain a binding resin and small pieces of a metallic thin film. The manufacturing method for the paper container is characterized by making the metallic luster layer region of the paper container formed in such a manner as to be coated or printed with printing ink and a high-luminance coating agent.
