PURPOSE: A system and a method for transmitting data by using an asymmetrical transmission are provided to enable long distance data transmission without extra relays and process data at high speed. CONSTITUTION: A system(1000) for transmitting data by using an asymmetrical transmission includes an image converting and compressing element(200) converting a video signal input from a camera lens into a digital signal by detecting and amplifying the video signal, and compressing the converted digital signal; a data processing and transmitting element(300) composed of a CPU(310) supporting broadband Internet connection and remote LAN connection service, and high performance of multi-service traffic control/installation/operation/maintenance and repair, and providing WAN connection function, a memory(330) storing all kinds of variables and data necessary for operations of the CPU, and storing information related to firmware implemented to execute functions of the CPU and peripheral devices, and an XDSL Co module(340) modulating data applied from the CPU or demodulating data transmitted from the outside; and an image processing element(600) including an XDSL Cp(610) module modulating voice and video data applied from the data processing and transmitting element for transmitting the modulated data to a host computer(620), and modulating data transmitted from the host data.
