PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser exposure device that saves cost of optical components or dust proofing. SOLUTION: The laser exposure device forms a two-dimensional picture through exposure by scanning the paper P transported along a transporting route with a laser beam. The device is equipped with a linear laser outputting part for outputting a laser beam, an optical sensor 52 for measuring the intensity of the laser beam, sensor moving means 50, 51, 53 for moving the optical sensor 52 along the scanning direction of the laser beam at a speed slower than the scanning speed of the laser beam, and a correcting means which finds intensity irregularity in the scanning direction of the laser beam by moving the optical sensor 52 along the scanning direction, which determines such correcting data as to cancel the intensity irregularity and which corrects the picture data to be exposed on the basis of these correcting data.
