PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device equipped with a cleaning device where sufficient cleaning function can be demonstrated even when a large quantity of offset toner is brought in under a low temperature environment. SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus detecting the environmental temperature, a pressure contact member brought into the pressurized contact with the cleaning web in the fixing device is brought into a pressurized contact with the cleaning web at a force that is greater than in a normal environment when the copying action is started at a temperature lower than that specified.
