PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing animal hair protein-based fibers whose wetting heat generation is low controlled. SOLUTION: This method for producing the low wetting heat-generating animal hair protein-based fibers are characterized by treating the surfaces of animal hair protein-based fibers with an oxidizing agent and then imparting a hydrophobic resin compound whose ionic property is cationic. The hydrophilic groups of the animal hair protein-based fibers are reacted with an epoxy resin compound.
