PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record without decreasing a processing speed of a recording operation. SOLUTION: In a recording device for recording by a recording head 2 on a recording medium 7 carried by a carrier roller 31, a cutting device 5 to cut the recording medium 7 recorded by the recording head 2 and a CPU 10 to control the recording operation are provided. The CPU 10 judges whether next page should be recorded or not after one page is recorded based on a judgement of the cutting device 5 whether there is the cutting device 5 of the recording medium 7 or not, calculates carrying volume of the recording medium 7 prior to recording of the next page and calculates available dot number of recording prior to recording of the next page.
