PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the identifying method of a wireless keyboard with which the keyboard can be identified immediately after power is supplied, a peculiar identification code can be set and the peculiar identification code cannot be canceled when power is interrupted. SOLUTION: In the wireless keyboard where a receiver is made to identify the wireless keyboard by using the identification code, an initial identification code being an initialization code is recorded in a non-volatile memory in the wireless keyboard (S1), and a flag for identifying the initial identification code is recorded (S2). The initial identification code is registered in the receiver (S3) and the wireless keyboard is identified by using the initial identification code when the flag is recorded (S4), and the flag is erased (S6) when the peculiar identification code is recorded in the non-volatile memory in the wireless keyboard (S5). The peculiar identification code is registered in the receiver (S7) and the wireless keyboard is identified by using the peculiar identification code after the flag is erased (S8).
