PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical-detection device, in which nether the errors in detecting the amount of movement, etc., nor disturbances in detection signals occur. SOLUTION: The optical-detection device is provided with a light-emitting element for irradiating an object with light, an optical detector for detecting the light from the light-emitting element which is reflected, transmitted, or diffracted by the object; and a means which includes one or a plurality of lighttransmitting members arranged either in the optical path from the light- emitting element to the object or in the optical path from the object to the optical detector, and makes approximately equal to the optical distance between a emission plane of the light-emitting element and an irradiated part of the object, and the optical distance between the irradiated part of the object and a detection plane of the optical detector.
