PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the display performance of a video display device by obscuring the joints of the boundary portions of when superposing the portions where a plurality of screen adjoin with each other. SOLUTION: In the case of displaying two video data on a continuous display area, the video data of a screen A and a screen B are read from the video storage memories 2a and 2b of the screen A and the screen B, respectively by readout control based on each display timing signal of the memory control parts 3a and 3b of the screen A and the screen B. Videos based on respective video data are displayed on a screen by driving respective display devices through respective video display output parts 6a and 6b. At this case, the display timing control parts 4a and 4b of the screen A and the screen B create display timing signals for display timing where phases are disposed in an inverted state and supply them to video data corresponding to the lines of the portions where the videos are superposed on the basis of the phase timing signal from a timing phase control part 5 so that they are display or not displayed alternately for every line and every field, and thereby control read-out in the memory control parts 3a and 3b of the screen A and the screen B.
