PURPOSE: A method for controlling a power in a mobile communication terminal is provided to reduce the power consumption of the mobile communication terminal by judging whether a certain part of a frame is demodulated according to a current data rate, and preventing that demodulation is performed as to a part in which it is unnecessary for demodulation or turning off a receiving power. CONSTITUTION: An MS(Mobile Station) judges a current data rate(S11). If the current data rate is not '1', the MS judges a group to be demodulated by a variable(valid_pcg) for indicating a power control bit is included in the group(S12). The MS calculates a part repeated in a 20ms receiving frame according to the current data rate, and determines a part to be demodulated(S13). The MS judges whether a currently received part is the part to be demodulated(S14). If the currently received part is not the part to be demodulated, the MS judges whether the power control bit is included in the part to be not demodulated by the variable(valid_pcg)(S15). If the variable(valid_pcg) is '1', the MS demodulates the currently received data(S16). If a variable(RX_OFF) is '1'(S17), the MS stores a currently received level just before the part to be demodulated is ended(S18). The MS turns off a receiving power(S19). If the variable(RX_OFF) is '0', the MS disables only the demodulation operation(S20). |
