PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper label that a metal glossy layer region is simply, easily and inexpensively formed into an arbitrarily shaped pattern and a method for manufacturing the paper label. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the paper label forms the paper label that the metal glossy layer region containing a bonding resin and metal thin film pieces is provided on a paper substrate, having an undercoating layer between the paper substrate and at least the metal glossy layer region, and the metal glossy layer region by using application and print of a high brightness coating agent.
