PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-resistant resin composition of lactic acid polymer. SOLUTION: Hydroxycarboxylic acid, for example, lactic acid, a higher unsaturated fatty acid originating from naturally occurring oil and unsaturated alcohol bearing one or more double bonds are copolymerized to produce a polyhydroxycarboxylic resin composition that have carbon-carbon bonds, ester linkage and three-dimensionally cross-linked bonds and has excellent heat resistance. In order to produce the resin composition, hydroxycarboxylic acid and higher unsaturated fatty acid are mixed and esterified, then unsaturated alcohol is mixed and esterified, then polyaddition polymerization is carried out. In another embodiment, higher unsaturated fatty acid is esterified with unsaturated alcohol, then polyhydroxycarboxylic acid is mixed with the esterification reaction mixture to carry out the polyaddition polymerization between them.
