PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the barrier electric charge is decreased by a self-erasing discharge and a non-lighting cells is generated in a plasma display device. SOLUTION: In this plasma display device, the potential of data electrode is made lower than the potentials of scan electrode and sustainment electrode at the time of sustainment discharge and erasure discharge are generated.
