PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for subjecting an aluminum alloy to surface treatment by which the transparency and brightness of a film clear-painted on an anodic oxide film can sufficiently be secured, and adhesion between the anodic oxide film and the painted film is made excellent. SOLUTION: In the surface treatment method for an aluminum alloy where an anodic oxide film is formed on the surface of an aluminum alloy, and clear painting is performed to the anodic oxide film, a neutralization treatment where fine pores formed on the anodic oxide film are cleaned, and drying treatment where the anodic oxide film is forcedly dried before the above clear painting are performed.
