PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc cutter with a large diameter which exhibits excellent grinding and cutting performance. SOLUTION: A disc cutter 10 includes a disk shape base 12 suited to be driven around a rotating shaft and subjected to quenching and tempering treatment, and a plurality of arc-shaped cutter segment bases welded on the outer periphery of the disc shape base. Abrasive grains 24 are bonded on the outer periphery of respective are-shaped cutter segment bases and a segment surface disposed at a prescribed distance from the outer periphery by a bonding member 22 whose principal ingredient is a Cu alloy.
