PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record an image as faithfully as possible even when electronic data are microfilmed. SOLUTION: A line image 6a formed on a small mirror array 6 by projecting a light beam having its intensity modulated by a signal modulating circuit 11 from a semiconductor laser 1 is reduced by an imaging lens 7 and formed as a line image 8a on a microfilm 8. A two-dimensional image is reduced and recorded on the microfilm by scanning the microfilm 8 as shown by an arrow C. A pupil position detecting circuit 9 reads a pupil position out of pupil position information written to the imaging lens 7 and a mirror angle setting circuit 10 sets the angles of respective small mirrors of the small mirror array 6 corresponding to the pupil position.
