PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traversing rail that can reduce the man-hour required for welding, sealing, etc., and to provide a vehicle traverse mechanism. SOLUTION: The vehicle traverse mechanism 1 has a rear traversing rail 2 and a front traversing rail 3 positioned to face the rail 2. The rear rail 2 is composed of a main body section 2a and a guide section 2b provided on the section 2a. The sections 2a and 2b are integrally formed by press-bending one metal plate. The guide section 2b is constituted so that the section 2b may be sandwiched between a pair of flange sections 6a provided on a rear wheel 6. Consequently, the rear wheel 6 runs on the guide section 2b without causing derailment. In addition, a vertical position deciding projecting section 9 which is extended in the lengthwise direction of a guide section 7 is installed to one end section of the guide section 2b.
