COMPARATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF VARICELLA-ZOSTER VIRUS USING IMMUNOBLOTTING

PURPOSE: A comparative and quantitative analysis of varicella-zoster virus using immunoblotting is provided to rapidly quantify the varicella-zoster virus. CONSTITUTION: The comparative and quantitative analysis of varicella-zoster virus using immunoblotting comprises the steps of: (1) blotting a varicella-zoster virus sample and plaque forming unit(PFU)-known varicella-zoster virus as a control to the nitrocellulose membrane; (2) binding a first anti varicella-zoster virus antibody with varicella-zoster virus on the nitrocellulose membrane; (3) binding a second antibody with the first antibody; (4) measuring the coloring level developed by coloring substances labeled to the second antibody; and (5) comparing the coloring level between the varicella-zoster virus sample and the control, wherein the second antibody is fused with peroxidase.
