<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball that is highly repulsive, has a long carry, a soft feeling and fracture resistance. SOLUTION: In a gold ball having a core and a cover, the amount of deformation of the core under a load of 980 N is 4.7 to 5.3 mm, the cover is composed of an ionomer resin and inorganic fillers whose specific gravity is 3.50 or higher and 10 to 25% by mass are mixed to 100% by mass of the ionomer resin. The cover material whose specific gravity is 1.050 to 1.100 or higher, the thickness of which is 1.5 to 2.0 mm, and the Shore D hardness of which is 57 to 63. The golf ball weighs 45.0 to 46.0 g and the amount of deformation of the cover under a load of 980 N is 3.7 to 4.3 mm. When the weight of the golf ball is (W) and the moment of inertia is (MI), the relation of 1.53×W+13.32<=MI<=1.61×W+11.02 is satisfied.</p> |
