METHOD FOR TREATING WASTE WATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to treat waste water with an excellent reducing effect of the COD component included in the waste water or the like occurring when incineration ash of domestic waster or industrial waste is washed. SOLUTION: The waste water containing the COD component is brought into contact in a fluidized state with a granular oxidation catalyst having higher specific gravity than that of the waste water in the presence of an oxidizing agent. In particular, continuous treatment is possible by forming a liquid region where the granular oxidation catalyst is substantially not present in the upper part of the fluidized region where the granular oxidation catalyst is present as flowing and by supplying the waste water to the fluidized region while draining the treated waste water from the liquid region.
