PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal die apparatus for die-casting which can eliminate solidification of over-fed molten metal led into a chill vent connected to a cavity formed in a metal die, or occurrence of a flash caused by overflow of the over-fed molten metal from the cavity, when the molten metal is excessively fed due to its inertia in the process of the die cast forming. SOLUTION: To hold molten metal 13 in the middle of a runner 8 connected to the cavity 10 formed by the metal die 9, a pot 14 is installed, whose inner volume is changeable by sliding inside the pot a flange 15 attached to a driving pin 16.
