PURPOSE: Provided are a portable storage apparatus with timer function which is only opened on preset time so that the contents are not known, thereby promoting anticipation and pleasure of a certain people and a method for driving the same. CONSTITUTION: The portable storage apparatus includes a container part(10) having an inner space to receive an article and a top surface to be open; a cover part(20) which is bound to the open side of the container part(10) in a way that it is opened and closed; a power cap(25); an opening and closing device(30) disposed at the inside of the cover port(20) to open and close the container part(10); and an operation control part installed in the cover part(20) to display a preset date and to control the operation of the opening and closing device upon the preset date.
