PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter in which the pressure loss of an air flow is prevented from being increased owing to the structural deformation of a filter medium by wind pressure and to provide a method for manufacturing the filter medium to be used in the filter, by which multiple products of the pleated filter medium can be manufactured by the same man-hour of pleating work. SOLUTION: This filter 10 is obtained by loading the pleated filter medium 20 in a filter case so that the ridgeline direction of the medium 20 is made almost similar to the flow direction of the gas passing through the filter. Multiple products of the medium 20 can be obtained at a time by perforating a wide-width webbed filter medium by a cutter 30 in the longitudinal direction so that a plurality of filter media of narrow-width similar to the height h of the filter can be obtained, folding the wide-width perforated filter medium by the prescribed pleat number by using a pleating apparatus 40, cutting the wide-width pleated filter medium in the transverse section to form a wide-width pleated filter medium 20A having the prescribed size and then cutting the medium 20A along the perforated line. |
