[Also in Divisions E1, E2 and H2] A strip.lighting system comprises elongated lighting units 10 suspended with their tops applied to the open side of a channel section sheet metal conduit 1, the suspension means being slidable to the required position of adjustment on a rail 3a provided at the back of the conduit. The suspension means comprises holders 8, each of which is clamped to the rail by a screw 13 engaging a clamping plate 12 and has a depending extension 9 to which a lighting unit 10 is attached by a screw 11. The holder also supports a transverse bracket 4 having a hookshaped arm 4a for carrying cables 5 and a straight arm 4b carrying clips 6 for supply leads 7 to the lamp. In a modification the bracket is integral with the holder. The conduit may project from the ceiling or be embedded therein. |
