PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel for fishing enabling the fishing without anxiety while confirming the remaining life of a battery. SOLUTION: The electric reel for fishing is provided with a spool rotatably supported on a reel body and a spool motor to drive the spool and is connected to a power source in fishing. The reel body is further provided with a displaying device, an inputting means for inputting the capacity of the power source, a memory means to store the capacity of the power source inputted by the inputting means, a current detection means to detect the electric current of the power source in the driving of the reel, a clocking means to measure the current-passing period of the power source and a controlling means to calculate and accumulate the consumed current from the detection data of the current detection means and the measured data of the clocking means, calculate the remaining capacity of the power source from the total capacity stored in the memory means and display the obtained remaining capacity on the displaying device.
