<p>Dehydrolinalyl carbamate, a novel compound, and dehydrolinal itself are useful as spasmolytic and sedative agents, and as potentiators of hypnotic and neuroleptic agents. At 100 mg/kb i.p. in mice they are active as sedatives; 1.75 mu g/ml of either compound gives 50% inhibition of the contraction of the rat dirodenum induced by 0.05 mu g/ml of acetylcholine. Clinical doses of the compounds are from 10 to 1000 mg depending on the individual requirements. Dehydrolinalol treated with phosgene and ammonia, gives the new carbamate.</p> |
