PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing manganese capable of converting a soluble manganese to an insoluble manganese dioxide with a simple operation and control without damaging a separation membrane and also-without forming a heptavalent manganese oxide and capable of easily removing a soluble manganese from raw water in a stable state. SOLUTION: Hydrogen peroxide is added to the raw water, and the soluble manganese is converted to the insoluble manganese dioxide by the oxygen generated from the hydrogen peroxide, then the formed manganese dioxide particles are removed from the raw water by a membrane filtration.
