PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treating apparatus in which manure can be obtained efficiently by fermenting garbage aerobically while the subject to be treated being garbage is agitated surely. SOLUTION: Rotary shafts 11a, 11b are arranged in a treating tank 11 in parallel in the lateral direction. Agitation blades 12a, 12b are fit to the respective shafts 11a, 11b at the prescribed intervals and arranged alternately so as to overlap each other. The lower part of the inner wall of the tank 11 is formed to have a shape close/corresponding to the outer peripheries of the rotation loci of the blades 12a, 12b. The blades 12a, 12b are rotated to such directions respectively that the subject to be treated can be made to descend on the overlapping side of the blades 12a, 12b.
