THERMAL FUSE

摘要

A thermal fuse exhibiting a low electrical resistance at the time of conduction, in which fusion of a movable electrode (4) and a lead wire (2) i s prevented even when temperature rise of an apparatus for connecting the thermal fuse is slow. A temperature sensitive material (7) fuses at a workin g temperature to unload a compression spring (9) which thereby expands to separate the movable electrode (4) from the lead wire (2) that are kept in press-contact by the compression spring (9), thus interrupting a current. Th e thermal fuse is characterized in that the material of the movable electrode (4) is obtained by subjecting an alloy of composition containing 99-80 pts.w t. of Ag and 1-20 pts.wt. of Cu to internal oxidation, wherein the thickness of the oxide lean layer of the surface layer of that material is 5 .mu.m or les s and mean particle size of oxide particles in the material is 0.5-5 .mu.m.
