PURPOSE: A location trace service system using an IMS(Internet Message Service) terminal having a GPS(Global Position System) receiver and a method thereof are provided to transmit location data to a paging exchange, so as to provide precise location information through an Internet Web service system connected to the paging exchange and based on a GIS(Geographic Information System). CONSTITUTION: A geographic information DB server(330) receives location information and an identifier of an IMS terminal(100) from a paging exchange(210) to search a geographic information DB, wherein the IMS terminal(100) having a GPS receiver(10) transmits the identifier and the location information calculated by the GPS receiver(10) to the paging exchange(210) including a subscriber information processing unit(216) and an IMS system(214) through a paging network(200). A map server(320) receives the location information, the identifier and the searched geographic information from the geographic information DB server(330) for mapping. And a GIS server(310) requests the paging exchange(210) to transmit the location information to the DB server(330) on the request of a person connected through the Internet(400), and provides a computer(500) of the person with the location information, the identifier and the geographic information mapped in the map server(320) on the Web. |
