PURPOSE: A CRT panel lapping apparatus is provided, in which panel moving unit for moving the panel relatively to the lapping unit is arranged, to thereby effectively lap the inner surface of the panel. CONSTITUTION: A CRT panel lapping apparatus comprises a frame(1); a shaft(10) installed to the frame in such a manner that the shaft is rotatable centering from a vertical axial line; a driving motor(20) connected to the shaft, and which rotates the shaft; a table(40) for mounting a panel(P); an air mount(42) serving as an elastic support member for supporting the table to the frame in such a manner that the table is movable in forward, rearward, left and right directions with respect to the frame; a motion converting unit for converting rotating motion of the shaft into motion of forward, rearward, left and right directions, and transmitting the converted motion to the table; an inner surface lapping unit(50) fixed to the table in such a manner that the inner surface lapping unit is disposed at the inner surface of the panel, wherein the inner surface lapping unit contacts inner surface of the panel in accordance with the motion of the table; a lapping fluid feed unit for feeding lapping fluid to the contact portion between the inner surface lapping unit and the panel; and a panel movement unit for moving the panel in such a manner that the panel moves relatively to the inner surface lapping unit.
