PURPOSE: A method for inputting a hexadecimal number on a portable phone is provided to quickly input the hexadecimal number on the portable phone for inputting a Bluetooth device address, performing a smart battery memory editing function, inputting an IP(Internet Protocol) address, and inputting a hardware address. CONSTITUTION: If a user of a portable phone inputs one key of a key input device, a key sensing unit of a control unit confirms whether the inputted key is a numerical key or an other key of the key input device(S310). If the numerical key is inputted, the key sensing unit confirms whether the inputted numerical key is pushed during a uniform time(S320). If the inputted numerical key is pushed during the uniform time, the key sensing unit confirms whether the inputted key value corresponds to 0 to 5 key values(S330). If the inputted key value does not correspond to 0 to 5 key values, the key sensing unit recognizes a corresponding value as a hexadecimal number among 0 to 9 values(S350).
